End of Year Letter from PTSA President Tanya Tran

Dear Chaboya Parents, Teachers, Staff and Students,

Congratulations to our children on their completion of Chaboya’s 2018-2019 school year!

As the academic year draws to a close, it is time for celebrations and reflections for the entire Chaboya community. For our 7th and 8th grade students, having completed Chaboya’s distinguished educational programs, they are now prepared to take on new challenges as 8th graders at Chaboya or as incoming freshmen in high school.

For Chaboya administration, staff, and PTSA, the efforts we have made together throughout the year have made a significant, positive impact on our children’s academic, physical and social development. With your generous support, Chaboya PTSA has partnered with the school to provide valuable enrichment programs both inside and outside the classroom.

This year, the programs PTSA supported and the percentage of our program funds spent on each area are as follows (preliminary numbers as of June 7) :

Classroom Materials/Technology - 56% of program funds were allocated for enhanced classroom and library materials enabling teachers to effectively educate our students, as well as new technology for the school – watch for the new marquee coming soon!

Sports and Clubs - 37% funded our top ranked Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field, Volleyball and Wrestling teams. Afterschool Clubs included the Mandarin Club, Volleyball Club, Comic Club, Robotics Club, Python Club, Computer Programming Club, Bike Club, Movie Club, Sewing Club, Dance Club and Multicultural Club, among others.

Student/Teacher Enrichment - 7% funded enrichment activities including assemblies and recognition for students and teachers. The funds you contributed this past year have benefitted our children tremendously. We hope the incoming PTSA Board will receive even more support as they continue to work on behalf of our children.

The Chaboya PTSA Board and I congratulate our 8th graders’ promotion. We wish them continued success and happiness on their high school journey. For 7th graders, we wish them a remaining productive and enjoyable year at Chaboya Middle School.

Sincerely yours,
Tanya Tran
Chaboya PTSA President, 2018-2019
