It is the time of year when we reflect on what we are thankful for. At Silver Oak there are hundreds of parents whose contributions in time and donations enable us to provide outstanding classroom enrichment programs that support student achievement. On behalf of Silver Oak staff and teachers, we want to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to our parents and students. Wishing you an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. On November 2, Silver Oak started a new program for our students called Saturday Academy. Saturday Academy provides enrichment opportunities for all students while allowing our students to make up missed days of attendance. Missed days of school also result in lost revenue to our schools. Saturday Academy allows our school to recover lost learning as well as lost funding. Click headline to learn more.

As the holidays approach we are seeing an increase in student absences. Please do your best to plan vacations during non-school days. Students are only in school for 180 days and each one counts. If you do take time off of school please note that it will count as an unexcused absence.
