Girls on the Run is more than just a running program - it gives girls the opportunity to build confidence and healthy habits. Over 10 weeks, from March through May, girls will recognize their star power, make new friends, and so much more! Teams meet twice each week to play games and learn new life skills while building endurance to complete the Girls on the Run 5K on May 16, 2020.

Earlier this year, we piloted a food program here at Clark along with our Child Nutrition Services Department and want to share the results. Students may place any unused, uneaten cafeteria items in a cooler that will be in the Forum. This is for cafeteria food only - No food from home! During that particular lunch period, STUDENTS may help themselves to anything on the table at no cost. At the end of the lunch period, those items will go back to our lunch lady. We will try to reuse any items that we can. Refrigerated items will be kept on ice and whole fruit rewashed before serving again. The items should only be out for each lunch period so the total time they are sitting out is kept to a minimum. Click on the headline for the results.

As an alternative to sweet treats in the classroom, the school would like to encourage items like books and pencils for celebrations. Non-food rewards and incentives should be used as the first choice to encourage positive behavior.

Just a reminder that the kinder playground is closed after school because there is no supervision. It is difficult for the teachers on parking lot duty to tell who is being supervised and who is not when parents are present. This creates safety issues and the school can be held liable. Students playing on the kindergarten playground will be reminded to wait in the designated area for pick up.
