Each year in February, we celebrate Black History Month to acknowledge the important contributions that African Americans have made throughout history. In the current climate where mental health needs continue to arise, anyone can experience challenges. However, did you know that while mental illness affects 1 in 4 Americans, African Americans are 20% more likely to have mental health challenges compared to the general population?
How many absences are too many? Chronic absence is defined as 18 days a year—or just 2 days a month. Call your student's school office if you have questions about your student's attendance.
